The gold standard for battery energy density was set years before most car companies even thought about EVs.  

Tesla Motors has expertly packed 3 different configurations of 18650 Lithium cells into this (approx) 3" x 12" x 27", 50-60 lb package, while simultaneously offering an obscenely thorough coolant loop for cell-level heating and cooling.  The original Tesla BMS boards are included.  You can also swap them out for these custom boards and connectors enabling a plug-n-play interface with the BMS of your choice. Enjoy slick, easy access to the seven cell tap wires and four thermistor wires.

With an operating range of approximately 18-25V, these can be carefully stacked and packed in increments of 25V, providing compatible input voltage for most any EV build.  Please note: all battery module attributes should be taken as approximate.
